Covid-19 Announcement – 01  December 2021

In line with guidelines laid out by both the government and our industry body, all of the girls at Ahead with Organics have been double vaccinated and we will be requesting that anyone with a booking on or after the 3rd of December show proof of vaccination in the form of a valid vaccine pass.

We’re currently working out the logistics, and ask you to please read the information in your reminder text thoroughly before your appointment – we recommend checking this before each appointment no matter how regular you are as we will keep it up to date to follow the ever changing guidelines.

We know and hate that this will upset some of our valued clients, but as we are a close contact business, if we don’t choose this option, we will need to close until we get to the “green light”. If you’ll need to cancel an appointment that you’ve already made, please get in touch and we can do that for you, judgment free.
If you have any questions please do get in touch and we will do our best to answer them!

The Protection Framework

The new framework, and subsequent traffic light system, come into effect at 11.59pm on Thursday 2 December.

Under this framework, hair salons are deemed to be ‘close contact’ businesses.

Without the use of vaccinations certificates, Ahead with Organics would only be able to open at the ‘GREEN’ light setting. As a business, and without any certainty that the situation will improve shortly, this is unlikely to be a financially feasible option.

We support freedom of choice, and the last thing we want to have to do is exclude any clients from receiving service. We have tried to propose solutions to government agencies that may allow us to serve everyone (e.g., certain days of the month for existing clients without vaccination certificates). Ultimately there seemed to be little flexibility within the rules.

Unfortunately, this means that, from Friday 3 December, all clients will be required to have a vaccination certificate.

We intend to review our policy as the government provides further updates. We hope businesses will have more flexibility within the rules as the new framework matures.

What’s next?

The government is yet to announce what setting the Wellington region will be at when the traffic light system comes into effect.

After this information becomes available, we will provide an update on social media showing what each traffic light setting means for Ahead with Organics, and details on how to confirm your vaccination certification.

In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions concerns relating to this announcement.
